Just a few days into the competition, Samson Ogunmola one of the promising talents of the Nigerian National U17 team picks up an injury during a friendly match but bounced back quickly in time for the canceled tournament
He says, “ I had to work hard during my rehabilitation because I didn’t want the tournament to pass me by as I hoped to be better in Morroco than our last performance in the WAFU qualifiers. But I am sure the Board members of CAF made the right decision because of the rising of cases of Covid 19 and not all airspace is opened to some countries, it’s painful but we have to stay safe first and think about others especially our loved ones and elderly. I hope in the next coming months the world will see what I and my teammates are made of. Stay safe always and keep washing your hands Ogunmola says.
He has been rated in the Top fight watchlist, known for his Shooting range trademark, a marksman with a deadly left foot. A beautiful dribbler and one of the best free-kick takers on the team.
It is quite Sad that the young lad will miss out on the tournament. hoping to see more of Samson Ogunmola in the nearest future as we all have hope that the Nigerian youth team will make us all proud and will change the level of football in the coming years.
We wish Samson Ogunmola and the U17 2021 team well, as they move on to the next chapter
